This study reports the trajectory of the Participatory Movement (MP), which was created in opposition to the policies carried out by the Brazilian Association of Nursing (ABEn). This article, written by the first president elected of the «participatory» movement, presents the principles of the movement, its organization, the struggle for leadership, and the work developed in the administration administration first.
