Visualizações9Ver másThis paper is the result of our experience in clinical oncology in which we verified the lack of systematization in the nursing assistance offered to oncological patients. Thus, the objectives of this study are to analyze the problems of patients undergoing antineoplasic chemotherapy; identify the need for home nursing care; implement a systematic home assistance in order to continue the post-chemotherapy care and analyze the proposal of a systematic assistance. It was concluded that a specialized, systematic, whole, continuous and holistic assistance, extended to the patients' homes, minimizes complications associated to the side effects of antineoplasic chemotherapy

y los vómitos asociados con la quimioterapia del cáncer, e identificar cambios en los
parámetros vitales de los pacientes sometidos a esa experiencia. Estudio descriptivo,
exploratorio, transversal, nivel II, con enfoque cuantitativo, llevado a cabo con 13
pacientes de un ambulatorio de quimioterapia, en un hospital privado en São Paulo. En
la recopilación de datos, utilizó-se dos instrumentos, uno que fue propuesto por la
MASCC (Multinational Associationon Supportive Care in Cancer). Lla
mayoría de los participantes estaba compuesta por pacientes de sexo femenino, con
edades entre 40 y 60 años, casados y con cáncer de mama. Con respecto a los signos
vitales, hubo reducción de la frecuencia cardíaca en 77%; e de las náuseas en el 100%
de los pacientes después de la primera experiencia musical, y en el 85% después de la
segunda. Antes de las sesiones, los pacientes reportaron falta de fe en la música
para el alivio de las náuseas y los vómitos; y alivio de las náuseas después de las
sesiones. En conclusión, hubo una reducción estadísticamente significativa en las
puntuaciones de náuseas y vómitos después de las experiencias musicales. -

Visualizações9Ver másThe purpose was to analyze the needs of the family companion that follows the child in the chemotherapy unit from the standpoint of the child in treatment. It was a qualitative study. We used the adaptation of drawing-story with themes for the production of empirical data from seven children with cancer. The analysis was done using a thematic interpretation. For children, the family needs are: to incentive to change among family members as caregivers of the child; counseling and training for all family members who accompany the children; comfort for the family to remain with the child; autonomy for the family; take care the healthy sibling; environment that provides closeness between unmarried parents to support the child in treatment. It is essential to expand the focus of care restricted to children with cancer, broadening also the attention of nursing's team to family.

Visualizações9Ver másThe study was aimed at reporting a case of a patient who developed Hand-Foot Syndrome (HFS) grade 3 due the use of capecitabine and for which massage was used with aqueous-based moisturizer, aloe vera. The patient's functional capacity was assessed using the ECOG Performance Scale and the lesions were photographed during nursing appointment that occurred at intervals of ten days, totaling forty days of monitoring. There was significant improvement in tissue integrity, with total regression of symptoms, an important gain in quality of life, and immediate return to chemotherapy. It is believed that aloe vera can be an important component in nursing care in patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy.

Visualizações10Ver másThe proposal of the study was to verify leucocituria frequency in carriers of gynecological cancer in chemotherapy (CT) and to identify practices in urine collection for exam. Descriptive transversal study carried out with ginecologyc cancer patients during chemotherapy sections. With semi-structured interview, it was identified urine collection technique and verified the results of exams accomplished before chemotherapy sections. Among 30 interviews, 80% related to collect urine correctly, 100% presented at last a mistake during the process. Leucocituria frenquency was 30 episodes. The mistakes occurred mostly in genital cleaning and collection of the urinary jet. It infers that the erroneous form in the collection in addition to the neutropenia can be responsible for the leucocituria.
